Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Acceptance
By using getSnap.dev (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
getSnap.dev provides a REST API for capturing screenshots and PDFs of web pages. The Service includes API access, CDN storage, and related documentation.
3. Account & API Keys
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account
- You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential
- One account per email address
- You must not share, sell, or transfer your API key to third parties
- We may revoke API keys that violate these terms
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Capture content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Scrape websites in violation of their terms of service
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or usage quotas
- Overload the Service with excessive requests beyond your plan limits
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
5. Plans & Billing
- Free plan: 100 screenshots/month, no credit card required
- Paid plans: billed monthly via Stripe
- Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle
- Overage on paid plans is billed at $0.003 per screenshot
- All prices are in USD
- No refunds for partial months
6. Free Trial
- New paid subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial period.
- The trial is available once per account, ever. Cancelling a subscription and starting a new one does not qualify you for a second trial, however much time has passed.
- You must supply a payment method to start a trial. If no valid payment method is on file when the trial ends, the subscription is cancelled rather than charged, and your account returns to the Free plan.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your first billing period begins automatically at the plan's normal price.
- We may withdraw or change trial eligibility for future subscriptions at any time. This does not affect a trial already in progress.
7. Referral Program
Every account has a referral code. If someone signs up through your link and pays their first invoice, you earn a reward and they receive a discount.
- Your reward is $5.00 in account credit per successful referral, applied to your Stripe customer balance.
- Their discount is a one-time 20% off their first paid month.
- There is no cap on how many referrals you may make.
How the credit works. Referral credit is account credit, not cash. It is applied automatically against your future invoices and reduces what you are charged. It cannot be withdrawn, transferred or paid out, and it has no cash value. If you never subscribe to a paid plan, the credit will sit on your account unused. We do not refund it.
When it is earned. A referral is credited when the person you referred successfully pays their first invoice — not when they sign up, and not when they start a trial. If their payment is later refunded or charged back, we may reverse the corresponding credit. A referee who subscribes through a Team does not currently trigger a reward, because team billing uses a separate Stripe customer.
Rules.
- You may not refer yourself. Signing up with a second address in order to claim a referral on your own account is a breach of these terms, whether or not our automated checks detect it.
- Each account can be referred once. The first referral recorded is the one that counts.
- You may not advertise getSnap.dev misleadingly, bid on our brand name in paid search, post your link as spam, or imply that you speak for us.
- We may withhold or reverse credit, and close accounts, where we believe referrals are being manufactured rather than earned.
Changes. We may change the reward amount, the discount, or the rules of this program, or end it entirely, at any time. Credit already applied to your balance will be honoured.
8. Teams
- A team has exactly one owner. The owner is responsible for the team's subscription and is the party we bill.
- A team's plan governs the limits of every member. While you are in a team, your personal plan does not apply — your captures draw on the team's shared monthly quota and rate limit. A personal subscription will not raise your limits while you are a member of a team.
- Team owners and admins can see per-member usage. They cannot see any member's API key.
- The owner may remove members, transfer ownership, or dissolve the team. If a team is dissolved, members return to their own personal plan and limits, and quota already consumed in the current period is not reset.
- If a team's subscription ends, the team returns to Free plan limits for everyone in it.
9. Rate Limits & Quotas
Each plan has per-minute rate limits and monthly quotas. Exceeding rate limits returns 429 Too Many Requests. Exceeding monthly quotas returns 402 Payment Required (free plan) or incurs overage charges (paid plans).
10. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.
11. Data & Screenshots
- Screenshots are stored on CDN for up to 24 hours (cache period)
- We do not claim ownership of screenshots you capture
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture the content
- We may delete cached screenshots at any time
12. Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time
- Upon cancellation, your account is downgraded to the Free plan
- Your API key remains active with Free plan limits
- We may terminate accounts that violate these terms
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, getSnap.dev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
14. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
