Screenshot API pricing, compared

Every provider publishes a monthly price and a credit count. Divided out, the per-capture rates differ by more than ten times. Here is the arithmetic, at equal volume, with every figure checked against the vendor's own page.

The short version

At 5,000 captures a month, getSnap.dev is $9. Urlbox is $49 for the same 5,000.

At 100,000 a month, getSnap.dev is $79. The next cheapest is ScreenshotAPI.net at $175, then ApiFlash at $180.

That is between 1.6x and 10x cheaper depending on which provider and which volume, comparing like for like: roughly 1.6–2.3x against ScreenshotAPI.net and ApiFlash, 4.4–6.8x against ScreenshotOne, and 5.4–10x against Urlbox. You will see bigger multiples quoted by setting one provider's cheapest rate against another's most expensive; those compare different volumes and we would rather not.

The number that matters, because the plan names do not line up between providers.

One caveat on Urlbox’s entry tier

Urlbox’s $19 Lo-Fi plan is headed “Screenshot websites you own”, and its feature table lists third-party website screenshots as “Thumbnails Only”. Lo-Fi also has a 2.5 MB file-size cap and no render links, async API, custom headers or JS, proxy support or S3 output.

The same row reads “Most” on Hi-Fi ($49 for 5,000) and “All” only from Ultra ($99 for 15,000) upward. So if you are capturing sites you do not own — which is what most people want a screenshot API for — the honest comparison starts at $49 and reaches full coverage at $99, not at the $19 every roundup quotes.

We have left $19 in the table above because it is their published entry price and we would rather not quietly restate someone else’s pricing to suit us. Urlbox are not hiding any of this; it is on their own feature table. Checked 24 October 2026 on their pricing page.

Where a provider has no plan at a given volume, the nearest plan above it is shown with its included quota, since that is what you would actually pay. All figures checked 22 October 2026 against screenshotone.com, urlbox.com, apiflash.com and screenshotapi.net. Providers change their plans. If these look stale, theirs is the authority, not ours.

Where the difference actually comes from

Not a loss leader, and not a thinner product. Three things:

What cheap normally costs you, and what it does not here

A fair question when the gap is this wide, so the honest answers:

Try the arithmetic before you believe it

The free screenshot tool runs the same engine the API does, with no account. The pricing page has the full plan detail, and the docs show the request shape.
